After the passage of GI Irpinia to DO, the only two denominations worthy of note are Benevento and Campania. The other eight satisfy the local parochialism without giving any visibility to the region itself.
The denomination Beneventano occupies a vast area which is substantially identified with the Falanghina b. grape, but it also represents Irpinian vines with a modest presence of minor autochthonous vines such as Piedirosso n.
The appellation Campania imitates its ampelographic base with a greater adherence to the territory of Campania. Both of them, however, offer the possibility of using the name of the vine at more accessible prices, damaging in this way the destiny of the homonymous DO.
